In den späten sechziger Jahren durchforstete Bert Simons, Vorsitzender des Orpington Folk Dance Club, alte Manuskripte um Tänze zu finden mit einer Verbindung zur Grafschaft Kent. Er veröffentlichte in einer Broschüre zwanzig der insgesamt achtzig gesammelten Tänze. 1990 authorisierte er seinen Nachfolger Charles Learthart die gesamte Sammlung zu veröffentlichen. In Ergänzung dazu hat die Ring O'Bell Band 28 der ihrer Meinung nach besten Tänze dieser Sammlung ausgewählt. Sie haben diese Melodien mit viel Feingefühl in ihrem eigenen Stil arrangiert. Die Melodien sollen so gleichzeitg attraktiv sein für Folkdancer, aber auch für Zuhörer.
